Welcome

This is Dr. Dorbad. I'll be checking on any discussions we have on the Asthma Blog. Feel free to ask questions or post interesting events or information. I will occasionally add my own two bits.

First, Renaissance Pediatrics will be holding our annual Asthma Days on October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. On these days, our office will transform into an asthma clinic. There will be many activities and group teaching opportunities for our children with asthma. We will also be doing private asthma checkups with our providers. The flu shot will be administered on that day as well. In years past, we've had great success on these days and it's a good way for children with asthma to feel better about some of the challenges they face.

On another note, we've noticed an increase in visits for children who are wheezing, so now is the time to make sure you're doing everything you can for your child to prevent attacks. We like to have planned follow-up visits every 3 months for most of our asthma patients, so if it's been a while since your child's last visit, stop in for an asthma check so we can fine tune your child's treatment regimen before the cold season really sets in.
